The Family Research Survey is an introductory genealogical assessment designed to evaluate your ancestry and identify potential research opportunities. This service provides an overview of available records and possible lines of inquiry, helping you determine the next steps in your genealogical journey.

For £65, our team at the Society for Genealogical Heritage will conduct preliminary research to assess the feasibility of tracing your family history. This process involves analyzing existing records, identifying key sources, and outlining possible avenues for deeper investigation. Due to the nature of this research, the survey may take up to six weeks to complete.

Included in your Family History Research Survey:

• An initial genealogical assessment to explore potential research paths
• Preliminary research and record availability check, based on provided information
• A digital Family History Survey Report, summarizing findings and future recommendations
• Guidance on commissioning a full Family Research Report, if desired
• Digital delivery of your report via email

• Printed & posted hard copies available upon request for an additional fee, based on location
